Fall is here and although we have been spoiled with some unseasonably beautiful days, we have also been able to enjoy the cooler fall nights. Of course it ended up being very brisk on Saturday, so we ended up having to bundle up to go to campus to tailgate with Joe's high school/college friends for the Ohio State vs. Penn State game. Before the OSU game started we got to witness Michigan's last second loss to Michigan State (which I am pretty sure will still be in the top 10 worst plays in college football history when Baby Lude is in college!). We spent the rest of the evening hanging out at the Mayhill's and cheering our Buckeyes on to a very promising victory.

OSU vs. PSU Tailgate. Should have gotten a picture of Rosen and I comparing our baby bumps ;) |
On Thursday Sarah and 6 week old Madison drove down from Michigan and stayed the night with us before they headed to Cincinnati for the weekend. I was so excited to get to meet Madison, she is just the cutest!! We met some of Sarah's friends at the Circleville Pumpkin Show. I was able to indulge in some pumpkin favorites and other festival food goodies. Taking an infant to a festival is quite an adventure but I think we made the best of it. I got lots of practice maneuvering crowds and rough terrain with a stroller. At one point I was pushing the stroller while Sarah was shopping and I
am pretty sure I got judged by an older woman for having such a young
baby at a festival, and I think she was also very confused how I could
already be so pregnant again! haha. So I guess I should just start
getting used to people having their opinions, and not worry about them! Considering how warm it was Madison really hung in there like a trooper, especially when Sarah got stuck feeding her in a very warm diaper changing tent. I got a taste of how much of an adventure breastfeeding can be (especially when traveling and out in public). We also had to stop about 30 minutes before we made it home for a diaper change and feeding out in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately we found a well lit church parking lot to hang out in. It is really nice to see a good friend take it all in stride, I can't imagine how she keeps up when she has both of the girls with her! In the meantime I will try to appreciate my easy trips out of the house. Baby L is much easier cargo to take care of from in my belly. Joe and I made Sarah breakfast before she left the next morning, and she got to witness my pregnancy brain in action. I attempted to make pancakes but apparently I no longer know how to do ratios (or melt butter) so my pancakes turned more into flatjacks/crepes? I am usually really good at breakfast. Oh well at least everything still tasted good!

Baby is the Size of a Head of Lettuce

My belly on the other hand is definitely the size of a pumpkin! |
New for baby this week? Weighs 2+ pounds. Has eyelashes and is starting to open their eyes. Baby teeth and now permanent teeth buds are formed. Makes fists, sucks their thumbs, grabs feet/umbilical cord.
Maternity clothes? I might end up needing a maternity OSU shirt, my options are becoming very limited.
Sleep? As much as I can get.
Best moment this week? Visiting with Sarah and Madison.
Movement? I often can just watch my belly moving now when the baby is being very active.
Food cravings? Chocolate milk.
Have you started to show yet? Mostly nervous people are going to start giving me horrified looks when I tell them I am not due until the end of January.
Labor Signs? Still getting occasional Braxton Hicks, which feel very odd.
Belly Button in or out? My belly button has been sore! I am starting to think it is going to pop soon.
Looking forward to? Nikki, Jeremy, Greer, and Mama Lude visiting. Bortel Wedding.
