It may be September but temps in the high 80’s makes it feel like it is the middle of summer. We have been taking full advantage of the last of the gorgeous sunny summer days. Laura and Andy invited us to the Clippers game and taco showdown tailgate for The Rusty Bucket. We pigged out on tacos (mama may have had a couple plates full…and a hot dog at the game) and we got to watch Andy play a game down on the field.
We went to the “Battle of Hard
Road” Dublin Scioto vs. Worthington Kilbourne high school football game on Friday evening
with our neighbors Tom and Cindy. They
are both teachers at Kilbourne, and we live right across the road from Dublin
Scioto and are able to walk over to the games.
It was a great game, but unfortunately Baby Lude’s future alum ended up
losing (of course Tom and Cindy were happy). To the disappointment of my inner
band geek, neither of the marching bands were very good. And much to my surprise the bands didn’t wear
actual marching band uniforms and instead had on polos and shorts (I am
assuming because the weather was so hot, which had me thinking “Back in my day marching with the EHSPMB it
was 100 degrees and we still wore our marching uniforms…”). I wonder if we will end up with a football
player, cheerleader, band geek…or hey maybe even a lacrosse player?
We celebrated with Alison and
Brian for their one year wedding anniversary.
The Harris’ brought me this huge pregnancy pillow to try out. It’s pretty hilarious and takes up a lot of the bed, but I will definitely
give it a try. Christina had driven
down from Cleveland for the party and brought me some sparkling sangria. This solves my dilemma of what I will drink since I can’t have wine while watching
Dancing With The Stars starting in a couple weeks (which fun fact the spring season finale was my last alcoholic beverage before
finding out I was prego with Baby Lude).
I just couldn’t help myself and had to join in and play Flip Cup (or
“Flip House” as my sister Renee calls it).
It was still fun even if I was playing with water. Alison also busted out a selfie stick, which
has become blog worthy so that when we turn this into a book for Baby Lude one
day, he/she can know what this “ancient” and silly invention known as the selfie stick is.

We have been working on finishing
up our baby registry, which called for a visit to Babies R Us to play with
strollers. Thank goodness we went
on a Monday when it wasn’t busy because
we had strollers everywhere. I should
have gotten video of us running/spinning/folding/unfolding/getting stuck. It was fun!! We have a lil tweaking and price
checking to do between our two registries (Target and Amazon) but for the most
part we are done!
Daddy is also officially a
carpenter! The nursery is coming along
great. We have the crown molding and
chair rail up. Next up is the wainscoting. Then it is Mama's turn to start putting the nursery together :)
Nursery molding so far. |

Baby Lude might do track, and squeeze in a drama production, like his Mom. Definitely will be smart!
