Amelia has been a part of our family now for a little over a month, and we couldn't imagine life without her! Although we are definitely busier, she has fit into the day to day routine perfectly. So here's a little catch up of what we've been up to.
Bran got to stay up a little bit past his bedtime to welcome his sister home. Bran was so excited to help Daddy take her out of the car seat and couldn't wait to hold her. He would actually get upset if anyone tried to take her away. I am pretty convinced he might think this new little baby Mama brought home is his. I think he may even love Amelia (which Bran kind of says like Mia) more than Mommy or Daddy. He is constantly asking where his sister is, and loves to help take care of her (insisting she take a pacifier that she doesn't really love haha, putting on her headbands, making sure Mama knows that she is crying...the list goes on). His awareness of her well being is heartwarming, and I am already convinced he is going to make a great big brother. He makes sure to give her a hug and a kiss everynight (heck all day) and tell her that he loves her. He is the sweetest little boy.
Amelia had his first checkup with the pediatrician when she was 2 days old. She weighed 7 lbs 7 oz, and was up to 8 lbs 1 oz. by her one week appointment. Amelia is a champion at nursing! Mama actually has a good handle on breastfeeding with this one and it's a wonderful and rewarding experience.

Bran likes to share his toys, for now (haha). |

I always want to remember Amelia this tiny. |
Grandma Lude spent the first week at home with us and she was a huge help! She really let us focus on Amelia by entertaining Bran, and getting up with our early bird everyday so we could catch up on a little bit of sleep in the mornings. It was so nice and helpful having her around, and Bran really loved it. Don't worry Grandma snuck in plenty of Amelia snuggles too.
So needless to say Amelia has a great latch. So great that when she woke up in the middle of the night and I was carrying her into the other room to change her diaper before we sat down to eat, she ended up latching right onto my neck and giving me a hickey! Don't mess with Amelia and her food!

Blogging is going to be even harder to keep up with now that we are a family of 4 plus two fur babies (I am just finally posting this and Amelia just turned 9 weeks old so I am a little behind haha). But I am really hopeful to at least document some of the highlights. I also am doing my weekly photo project again! Here is week one!
